Mformation sued RIM in 2008 claiming their patent on managing remote wireless devices over a network had been used and abused by RIM for their Blackberry devices. Yesterday, after four days of deliberation, a jury found in favor of Mformation and ordered RIM to pay them $8.00 for each Blackberry device connected to RIM's servers.
That's $147.2 million dollars.
So long RIM.
Oddly enough, I'm off to my hometown's annual Blackberry Festival in a few minutes. Real blackberries. And I'll probably take some photos on my iPhone.
